Definition of Mobile Application

Mobile application is the process by which applications are developed for handles devices such as personal digital assistants, enterprise digital assistants or mobile phones. These applications are either pre-installed on phones during manufacture, or downloaded by customers from app stores and other mobile software distribution platforms.

Mobile and wireless devices are enabling organizations to conduct business more effectively. Mobile applications can be used to support e-marketing with customers and suppliers, and to conduct e-business within and across organizational boundaries.

With the rapid proliferation of mobile devices, including mobile phones, PDAs, and handheld computers, mobile marketing is widely considered to be a driving force for next-generation e-marketing.

The most familiar mobile application is Apple Apps. I-phone users can download Apps free of charge through App Store. According a recent survey, many of the iPhone users are young. Half are under thirty. Fifteen percent are students. Thus, the key to success is how to categorizers the iPhone users to match a organization’s product through mobile application.
